Risk Register

Guidance on how to measure potential project risks as an organisation or a commissioner.

About Risk Register

A useful template to help measure potential project risks as an organisation or a commissioner. Risks are divided into the following categories: Funding, People, Governance, Artistic. Measure the probability and impact of potential risks as ‘Low / Medium / High’; consider how these risks could be mitigated, and whose responsibility these actions will be, and measure the revised risk level if mitigated.

We have included examples within each category, but you should add risks pertinent to your organisation and situation. Examples include:

  • Funding Risk: Don’t raise target earned / core income
  • People Risk: Member of staff on long-term sick leave
  • Governance Risk: Fail to recruit Board members with appropriate skills
  • Artistic Risk: Negative perception about artistic programme.
