Curator Resource: Join our Curatorial Forum
How to join
Arts&Heritage and the Centre for Critical Studies in Museums, Galleries and Heritage at the University of Leeds have received Art Fund support for a Sector Specialist Network focused on curators/ producers creating contemporary art projects in heritage contexts. This is a pilot phase for a long-term programme, generously funded by Art Fund’s curatorial Network Grants.
We want initially to create a space to share your current concerns and emerging issues for our area of practice, as museums, spaces and sites come back out from this closure period. A lot has happened in a short space of time and we want to capture the impacts of these world altering events on our area of practice. We want to work out how collectively we can work together to make the urgent changes needed, raise the profile of contemporary practice in heritage spaces, and advocate for the continuation of the kind of work we produce at the highest possible level.
The agenda and activity of the forum is decided by its members, it is held digitally every 6 weeks or so, is 1.5 hours long – and will be a mixture of guest speakers and group conversation. The aim is to collaboratively address some of your concerns, to shape the agenda for the coming programme of activity, and identify what other support would be helpful in this new world and how Arts&Heritage and Leeds University might be able to provide this.
If you would like to attend the next Curatorial Forum, or find out further information, please contact Stephanie Allen at Stephanie@artsnadheritage.org.uk.
