The Vindolanda Charitable Trust is inviting artists to apply for a paid period of research and development in five important archives and respond by creating a new artwork, or body of work, for presentation at Queen’s Hall Gallery One in Hexham, Northumberland from September until November 2027.

Funded by a consortium grant from Archives Revealed, this artist research and commissioning opportunity is part of the Vindolanda Trust’s creative programme The Land We Walk On an artist in residence programme, inviting artists to undertake research informed by the Trust’s collection and climate research.
