A&H are recruiting new Trustees to join our Board

3rd February 2022

Can you help us forge connections between artists, communities, historic sites and museums, to challenge how heritage narratives are explored?

Arts&Heritage is looking to recruit new Trustees to join its Board.

Arts&Heritage is the leading UK agency specialising in commissioning artist projects in heritage environments. We operate nationally to generate unusual and ambitious commissioning opportunities for artists, and prioritise a diversity of voices within the stories presented in museums and heritage sites.

We do this by creating national skills development programmes, initiating new contemporary projects, advocating for the sector, as well as working as consultants, advisors and mentors to generate unusual and ambitious commissioning opportunities.

We are looking for people who have skills, experience or knowledge in one, or more, of the following areas:

  • Finance and Fundraising
  • Artistic Practice
  • Curators and Gallery Professionals
  • Diversification
  • Marketing
  • Legal

We want to address the diversity of the Arts&Heritage Board, to ensure that it reflects the range of voices represented in the organisation’s work.  We strongly encourage applications from people at different professional stages and from people with any protected characteristic who feel passionate about wanting to add their voice to our organisation.

As a Trustee you will:

  • Have your voice and ideas heard, maximising your sphere of influence
  • Meet new people, develop new relationships and expand your network
  • Develop new skills, to support your professional development
  • Be reimbursed for any travel expenses.

You’ll be joining an engaged Board of Trustees, to share your skills, experience and perspective to support areas of Arts&Heritage’s business. The Board of Trustees meet four times a year, typically for 2-3 hours at a time that is convenient for the Board, and have an Annual Away Day, somewhere in the UK. We also ask Trustees to join a sub-group, which are a blend of both Staff and Trustees.

Please get in touch to arrange an informal chat with Stephanie Allen (our Executive Director), and Jonathan Nash (our Chair of Trustees). To arrange this please email Stephanie at stephanie@artsandheritage.org.uk.

Deadline: 5pm, 11 March 2022
